My name is Dr. Samuel Riley and I am a chiropractic physician. I graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 2012, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a specialization in Exercise Science. Following graduation, I worked as an athletic trainer at Athletic Conditioning Center (RI) – working primarily with middle school/high school athletes on strength, conditioning and mobility. Wanting to expand my knowledge of the human body lead me to further my studies and graduate from New York Chiropractic College in April 2017 with a Doctor of Chiropractic. I am a Board-Certified Chiropractor with advanced credentials in Whole Food Nutrition.

After graduation I worked in Montclair NJ for two years where I had the privilege to learn from Dr. Jeffrey Lally.

My journey as a health professional began at a young age, where my life like many, revolved around sports – predominantly soccer and basketball. At age 11 I broke my left clavicle in a soccer match, which would trigger a downward spiral of complications including; chronic pain, multiple shoulder surgeries and countless rehabilitation stints with various physical therapists and orthopedic surgeons. After the first surgery, I did everything in my power to strengthen and rehab my shoulder back to its pre-injury state, only to suffer the same injury while blocking a shot minutes into my first basketball game back since the injury. I couldn’t wrap my head around how I could have invasive shoulder surgery, do all that was asked of me and more in the rehab process and be right back to square one. After a follow up visit with the orthopedic surgeon, his plan for me was more surgery. I fell into this cycle of injury – surgery – rehab that took three surgical procedures over the course of six years.

This experience sparked my interest in exploring alternative medicine – leading me to chiropractic. I wanted to help people truly take back their health naturally, without the use of medications, surgery and the countless side effects that come with these therapies. Having suffered from lifelong allergies myself and being placed on antihistamines and nasal sprays daily for years I knew there had to be another way.

During an appointment with my allergist/immunologist I asked, “is there anything else I can do for my allergies besides taking Allegra every day for the rest of my life?”

His response, “You’re a Riley, you’re allergic to everything.”

This was my last appointment at that doctor’s office, and I have since found natural ways to manage my allergies – not needing medication in over 10 years.

Not being trained in the typical western medicine model, I am open to all techniques and modalities of healing. The technique I found most beneficial for myself and for others is Applied Kinesiology.

Outside the office I enjoy exercising, spending time at the beach, college football, reading and continuing post-graduate studies.
